Why does it seem like there’s more and more video content in your social media stream? Answer: because people watch them and search engine algorithms prioritize them. We are a very visual society. Given the choice between reading and watching content, I don’t suppose I have to tell you which one wins in a landslide. That’s not to say well written content won’t be well received; it does draw traffic and it connotes credibility.
This “documentary style” video helps explain a fairly esoteric concept in a short amount of time, and gives the audience an extra dimension of understanding than what would be possible in a blog post or a news release. It’s also demonstrative of one of the first rules of marketing: use cows wherever possible; people of all ages love them.
